Nancy Koen, born and raised in Laurel, MS, left for boarding school at 14yrs old to Darlington School in Rome, GA where she graduated in 1996. From there, she returned to her home state to attend college at the University of Southern Mississippi. Here she studied art and fashion, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising, a Minor in Marketing and an emphasis in Art History.
Originally, Nancy had plans to build a fashion career in NYC after college. However, shortly after graduation, the events of 9/11 changed the course of her career, leading her to another market near friends and family. In 2002 Nancy moved to Dallas where she was eager to break into the wholesale fashion market. She worked in building brands from inception and managing multiple apparel and accessory brands throughout a decade.
In 2008 Nancy and Jason worlds’ collided while Jason was still working at the Goss-Michael Foundation. And in 2010, their union was sanctified, marrying in Kenny Goss and George Michael’s back yard.
Nancy continued to expand her pursuits, and in early 2013 she co-founded B.Stellar Jewelry. She focused on sales and brand building — and by the fall of 2013, they had their first showroom representation at FIG (Fashion Industry Gallery). By the time Nancy left the company in 2017, the brand was carried in over 60 speciality stores across the US and online.
In 2005 Nancy was featured as Dallas Morning News’ Style Maker and in 2015 she was awarded the same ‘Stylemaker’ title by Culturemap Dallas.
